Ahhh a spa day! We all want it, we wish it happened every day but unfortunately, it can get expensive!
Trust me, I get it. Today I want to share with you all some DIY’s To Give Yourself A Spa Day right in the comfort of your home.
Coffee Body Scrub
This scrub is so efficient because it can be used on your face and your body. Coffee is a great ingredient to use on your skin because it exfoliates, reduces redness, reduces the appearance of cellulite, smoothes out your skin and it is anti-inflammatory. Once you start using this yourself you can experiment with several different organic ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp of ground coffee beans
- 1 Tbsp of coconut oil
Directions
Mix these two together and you will have a rejuvenating scrub with ingredients you probably had lying in your kitchen. If DIY is not your thing you can always buy a coffee scrub like the one here and simply use it and store it away when done.
Oatmeal Face Mask
There’s nothing like putting a facemask on, watching a movie or while taking a bath allowing your face to rejuvenate. There are several ingredients you can use for your specific skin type, but today we will focus on achieving smooth skin, because who doesn’t want their skin to feel soft and clean. This oatmeal mask will soothe rough skin, and help your skin have a soft glow.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- 2 tbsp of honey
- ½ cup of warm water
- 2 tbsp of plain yogurt
Directions
Add water to the oatmeal and stir until you create a chunky paste. Mix the honey and yogurt to the paste, if desired you can blend all together, and slather it on your face for 10 minutes. Wash with water and voila! Your face should be smoother than a baby’s bottom. If you’re not a DIY’er you can buy a similar oatmeal face mask like the ones here and here.
Coconut + Salt Foot Scrub
Feet can be a dirty subject for many of us, but you should take care of your feet with all the torture you put them through, like walking in heels. This scrub will work wonders if you have dry or cracked feet or are in need of smoother skin on your feet.
Ingredients
- ½ Cup of salt
- 4 Tbsp of coconut oil
- Drops of Peppermint oil (Optional)
Directions
Mix well and lather all over your feet. Rub mix generously, focusing on the dry or cracked spots and rinse after desired time. You can also find a similar scrub already made, like the ones here and here.
Shower Bomb
I found a great easy recipe anyone can follow. Bath bombs are fun because they make your bath time more colorful and soothing, depending on the specific bath bomb. If DIY’S are not your thing Lush has a plethora of bath bomb options.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup baking soda
- ½ Cup of citric acid
- ½ Cup epsom salt
- 1 Tsp. water
- 2 Tsp. essential oil (the smell of your desire)
- 3 Tsp. olive oil
- Food Coloring (the color of your desire)
- Bowl
- Whisk
- Jar
- Bath bomb mold
Directions
Place the dry ingredients in a bowl and then mix them all evenly with the whisk and in a jar mix the liquid ingredients together. Slowly begin mixing the liquid mixture with the dry a spoon at a time. Insert the mixture generously into the mold and fill it then let it dry. Repeat until all mixture has been used and voila you have made yourself a bath bomb!
