Do you wonder how some moms can do so much in 24 hours, AND look cute while doing it?
I do. Well ladies, or should I say, fellow moms… Today I’m going to share with you five tips I have learned to stay productive in a mom’s world (and how to look great doing it!).
Write it down
I find this to be the one thing we are least likely to do. We always think we can remember, but we never do! Buy a cute planner or notebook like the ones here, they always make me want to write everything down because it’s so cute to look at! On Sundays, it’s great to sit down and write down all the things you need to get done that week, including your kid’s doctors appointments, bill payments, school functions, and things to do around the house. As a mom, I know we have a lot on our plate but by just writing them down we can get organized with all our duties.
Meal plan
There are days where I have no idea what to make for dinner. At this point, meals can become repetitive and even boring to make. One thing that will make you more organized in the kitchen is to meal plan! This task can also be done on Sundays to plan the meals for the week ahead. You can do this alone or you can sit down with your family and plan what they would like to eat that week. That same day you can go grocery shopping to knock out the whole new list.
Plan your outfit the night before
As moms, our duty is to take care of our families, but don’t forget that’s it’s also important to take care of yourself. I always like to think that if I look good I feel good. But if I am always in yoga pants and a t-shirt I won’t feel motivated to be productive. The easiest thing to do is to pick your outfit the night before and set it aside in your closet. This way in the morning you don’t have to think about what you’re going to wear, and you can focus on getting your family ready. I know there are times where I don’t have a clue what to wear, but I hop on Pinterest to get outfit ideas.
Tackle the biggest task first
When you write down all the things that you have to do, the last thing we want to do first is the biggest and most time-consuming task. Smaller tasks don’t take long to do but you still have a big task waiting for you to finish, and let’s be honest, we put it on hold for days before we begin to do it. I say just take on the challenge of doing the biggest task first, and I promise you, you will feel so accomplished. I understand we have so much to do and every day our to-do list just grows and grows, so I will separate what is the most important to do that day and tackle it first.
Get up before the family does
I know what you’re thinking, we already get up early because of our kids! But getting up earlier than everyone else will really help you get organized and get your kids ready for school, make breakfast, and take care of all your morning routines. I also like to relax and have ‘me’ time; there is nothing like being up while the world is still sleeping.
These ideas are just some simple things I do to be more productive and to tackle my days. Let me know if these helped you or if you have other tips. You can tweet me at @MichelleYarn, I would love to hear from you!
