A Hair Care Match Made In Heaven! eSalon: The Match-Up

Shopping for hair care products isn’t always the easiest task. There are endless shelves of products out there. And how do I whittle down the clutter to just exactly what I need for my hair at this very moment? Let’s face it – your hair needs change with the seasons, your activities, your color, your styling preferences and even the type of cut you’ve got at the moment. And all of that is in addition to the changes my hair is going through thanks to all the pregnancy and post delivery hormones – this girl can barely keep up!

So imagine my excitement when I teamed up with eSalon to try out their newest service called The Match-Up. It takes all the guesswork out of picking the perfect regimen for your hair. For $30/month you’ll receive a monthly collection of three full-sized hair care, styling and brow products (no more unruly brows for me!) that are individually selected for you.

Here’s how the process went for me:

Once I created a profile, I had the option to use “Manual Mode” to select my own 3 products from the eSalon smorgasbord of amazingness (yes, that’s what I’m choosing to call it because there are some seriously great products to choose from) or use “Discover Mode” to let the eSalon peeps choose for me based on my needs. Well I went “Discover Mode” and took a short quiz. It will ask you things like your hair length, color, concerns and styling goals. After that, my Match-Up was ready!

According to my answers – I’m in need of some color safe moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and an anti frizz serum for styling. Makes sense, since I just recently lightened my hair for the summer. And since I’m horrible at blow drying with a brush – I usually just wave the dryer like crazy and end up with a frizzed out lion mane that I tame with a super hot curling iron. I know it’s bad, what did my hair do to deserve this kind of treatment?!

Oh – and I added on a cute shower cap for good measure! You get a sweet discount on any extras you add to your 3 included items. By the way – these are FULL SIZE products, not teeny little travel sizes.

Then the mailbox stalking began. It’s so fun getting a delivery that ISN’T a bill or a stack of junk mail – amiright? It only took about 4 days for me to receive my Match-Up. I will say that at first I was a little hesitant about this type of service – especially since I already have a TON of different products and wouldn’t want to receive something that I already have 5 full bottles of at home.
