As we count down the end of 2016 – you’ve probably got your dress, your plans and your resolutions ready. But, it wouldn’t be a New Year’s Eve celebration without a signature cocktail, so let’s mix something up together! My drink of choice is the Moscow Mule. It’s crisp, refreshing tasting and looks really pretty in its copper mug! Perfect for entertaining and responsibly ringing in the New Year. And here’s a fun fact for you – Did you know Smirnoff invented the Moscow Mule 75 years ago? And today it’s the most Googled cocktail!
It’s iconic for sure – and you only need three ingredients to make one. The first is vodka- I’m using SMIRNOFF No. 21. This is a quality vodka that is triple distilled yet at an affordable price – and a must when making the original Moscow Mule. We also need ginger beer and a strong squeeze of lime.
So let’s get mixing. I’ve got my copper mug filled with ice. Now we add one and a half ounces of Smirnoff No. 21 vodka, some ginger beer and a squeeze of lime and stir. Garnish with a fresh slice of lime. So simple!
Now if you’re hosting a get together for the new year, here’s a way to add some extra spice and excitement for guests. I’ve set up a make your own Smirnoff Mule bar! So we’ve got all the ingredients out and ready to go. And then I like to add some bowls with holiday garnishes to really jazz up our drink. Here we have some cranberries, mint leaves, rosemary and cinnamon sticks.
Finish off your display with some fun, festive holiday decor and now you’ve got a gorgeous way to give your guests the freedom to customize their own Smirnoff Mule! So I propose a toast – here’s to enjoying a fun, festive and responsible New Year’s Eve celebration with those we care about most – cheers!
