Here are five healthy spooktacular ways to keep your little ghouls and goblins fueled up this Halloween season!
Halloween is such a fun time for kids and parents alike! And even with sugary treats being passed around, we can still set our kids up for fun, festive food and drinks that will keep them feeling their best! I’ve teamed up with Nestle Pure Life to share these ideas for adding some healthy treats to your Halloween celebration.
Get Creative
It’s amazing what you can do with just a food safe marker and some creative thinking! These items are things we usually already have on hand, and we can use them to “Halloween-ify” just about anything!
Clementine Pumpkins
I used my marker to draw the cutest little jack-o-lantern faces on the peel of the clementine orange! Now they are Clementine Pumpkins! This takes seconds to do, and my boys think they’re hilarious! Be sure to use food safe writing materials.
Cheese Stick Ghosts
Grab some mozzarella string cheese sticks, draw eyes and a spooky mouth on the wrapper and now it’s a spooky, cheesy snack! These would go great at a party, just stick them all in a mason jar and voila!
Grape-enstein Cups
The first thing to do is to fill a clear disposable cup with green grapes and place two marshmallows for eyes. Then you can draw your face on the outside of the cup and you are done! They are so fun you almost don’t want to eat them.
Share-a-Scare water bottles
Now, what about drinks? Skip the sugary, processed stuff and provide the kids with water that’s also totally festive! I just love stocking the fridge with these limited editions Nestle Pure Life Halloween “Share-a-Scare” water bottles. This is the perfect way to get parents and kids excited about the Halloween season. They’re available in 8 different Halloween-inspired designs that just make staying hydrated a bit more fun for a holiday! These water bottles would be perfect for a neighborhood get-together, a Day of the Dead Celebration or just a family meal at home. Another bonus with these “Share-a-Scare” bottles is the size! They are 8 ounces which are the perfect size for trick-or-treating, making it easy for kids to stay hydrated throughout the night.
Candy Corn Parfait
In my house fruit is by far the kids’ favorite! They will choose fruit over cupcakes every time! So to give the kiddos something sweet you just layer pineapple for the yellow, oranges for the orange and top with Greek yogurt or whipped cream for the white and voila! A candy corn parfait!
So there you go, guys! A spooktacular way to keep your little ghouls and goblins fueled up, hydrated and ready to enjoy the Halloween season.
